What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
One of the things I really enjoy about tutoring is seeing students who do not initially grasp a concept come to understand and apply it to their work. In high school, I had a number of passionate teachers who strived to aid me in achieving the best results I could, so I would really like the opportunity to use the skills they gave me to do the same for the students that I tutor.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe I have the ability to express theory and explain information in a way that students will be able to understand. I believe I am also capable of adapting my explanations to ensure that the students can leave their sessions feeling as if they have understood the material and are confident in it. In terms of subject areas, English is my strongest subject. I believe I am capable of teaching its fundamentals, such as spelling, grammar and [essay] writing skills.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Besides passing on theory and information in a way that is accessible to each student, I believe cultivating a positive and comfortable learning environment is crucial for their academic success. Having this will allow the students to feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their concerns when they do not understand something that has been taught. Particularly in high school English, having a familiar learning environment will allow them to put forward their own ideas and encourage discussion that aids in their analytical skills.
