What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I most enjoy being able to mentor others and guide them in understanding the subject. I find it very rewarding when I can help others to learn new topics and skills.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths as a tutor are in being able guide students to a solution in a way that they can understand, as when they understand how a solution is reached they learn more efficiently.
Maintaining a professional relationship whilst also becoming a mentor figure for your student also helps in the learning environment.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is provide them with the fundamental concepts and processes that they can use to solve problems and learn a topic. It is important to focus on a students understanding of a task so that they can apply that understanding to other similar tasks.

Sophie should work on writing out full equations for each problem before attempting to solve for area or perimeter, so that she does not forget to solve for parts of the shape.

Sophie seems to have a really good grasp on probability. Sheβs able to identify different probabilities using numerous techniques including venn diagrams, tree diagrams and two way tables.
Some questions on probability still cause confusion on how to approach them, but with more practice I think Sophie will be able to solve these problems quicker and more confidently

Sophie did well on her test, its clear that she understands the overall concepts of Parabolas. The places where she lost marks were mainly arithmetic errors rather than understanding errors. We started on probability, which she seems to understand well. She's able to use Venn Diagrams and two way tables as an aid to identify the probability of different occurrences under specific conditions.
Sophie should place emphasis in double checking her work to avoid arithmetic errors, especially sign errors.
