From learning about what makes them tick as a student, to learning their fears and insecurities, to learning their life goals and ambitions, to even learning their life philosophies, you see different perspectives about life and how to approach different situations. You are also a role model for your students. I found a lot of enjoyment in teaching my students on not just how to survive school academically, but also socially and mentally. I am an excellent and energetic collaborator. Two years ago, my whole fifth grade teaching team was new to our school. To foster team spirit, I suggested we choose a theme and create decor and team-building activities between the students around it each morning. We chose Greek mythology.
