What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Seeing a students eyes light up as they figure something out for the first time or when they recognise how much effort they've put in and feel proud. That confidence building is so rewarding for both students and myself as a tutor. I enjoy tutoring because of this and because I love helping students to achieve whatever goal we have come up with.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my greatest strengths as a tutor are helping students to come to their own conclusions and answers through prompting them with questions that let them think about the question in a different way. I can help students through making notes with them or for them if needed that enable them to self-prompt, and so they feel confident to practice in constructive ways when they are not in a tutoring session. I approach tutoring with a mindset of empathy and meeting students where they are at, and I am patient in explaining things.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do for a student depends on the student. For some high-achieving students that are already confident this may mean better grades that allow them to follow a career path they've dreamed of, and for others the confidence a tutor can give them is more useful than any material they have learnt. To inspire and extend students or give them confidence regardless of their grade or learning aspirations is one of the most important things a tutor can help with.
