What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It is an awful feeling to fall behind in class, whether it be due to lack of motivation, not understanding the teaching style of the teacher, or simply just needing more practice. I love to see students become more confident in themselves and their abilities. The one-on-one focus that is tutoring exponentially helps the student in both their understanding of the subject and their attitude towards school/homework. Ultimately, I love to see others succeed academically and to help any way I can to achieve their goals.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am patient and understanding when it comes to maths in particular. It is a subject that requires effort and commitment, and I am more than willing to supply the student with the 'tools' to be able to build upon their knowledge and for them to hopefully see that their hard work pays off. I also have an extremely strong work ethic, and will prepare relevant exercise/flashcards/quizzes for students to encourage them to practice 'actively' using their knowledge.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I consider patience and dedication to be the most valuable qualities a tutor can provide. The student needs to feel supported in a learning environment to succeed, especially if it is a subject they aren't particularly strong at. As a former HSC student, I honestly felt the 'tough love' approach some tutors had would deter me from wanting to study that particular subject.

She should practice her times tables over the holidays as these are a core part of primary school maths. She should also complete a few more mathsonline tasks before the school term ends.
Once felicity was reminded on the process on how to convert mixed numerals to improper fractions, she did very well. She has improved overall in this area of maths.

To practice timestables, and review decimals.
Did well completing a lot of her half-finished tasks. Is improving with fractions but could use some more practice to solidify knowledge.

To practice timestables, and finish as many tasks before the end of the school year.
Once Felicity learnt the process of these conversion, she did a great job of completing the entire task.

Just needs to come back to some similar questions in a week or so just to retain these newly learnt concepts.
