What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I think it is amazing how through additional support a student can improve their academics. I was able to see this myself through my own experience and see how my grades changed especially in year 12. Through tutoring I was able to gain additional support, revise content and ensure what I was learning was right which gave me confidence heading into year 12 and the sacs. I would like to give the same feeling I received to another student. To guide them through the tough year 12 journey just like I had support through my tutors.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
Being a recent graduate I understand the hardship from being a year 12 student therefore I am able to personally connect with the student. I understand some parts of the course are harder than others and that each person learns and understands differently, and that as a tutor I am there to help them through the hardship. I am non judgemental, and think this is really important in a tutor. I believe it is important to value the students hard work and perseverance rather than whether they get all the questions right.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe a tutor is not only there to academically help a student but to mentally support them through the tough journey as well. This can be through discussing their difficulties. Academically, I think it is important to provide additional and optional worksheets for the student to further understand a skill and to help them strive for their best.
