What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping others understand concepts. Tutoring is a highly-rewarding and interesting job where I can make a positive difference in the lives of many students. It is also a safe space where I can grow and mature, learn to take responsibility and develop on various soft skills. One more pleasant aspect about tutoring is the flexible hours, as my schedule being a full-time student can get busy.

I am patient, open minded, good at communication and problem solving. As a tutor, I am willing to explain it as many times as required to guide students in their understanding, and help them boost their confidence in a particular concept. I also understand the significance of individual differences in one's learning process. Students may require different teaching methods for them to learn effectively. Therefore with good communication and problem solving skills, I can cater to each student's specific needs.

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to create a safe and supportive learning space. With this environment, the student does not shy away from asking questions and communicating certain areas they would like further help, all the while increasing their confidence. From my experience, students struggle in subjects due to low levels confidence, even if they are knowledgable and have adequate skill. As a result, facilitating this safe space is extremely important for both the students' academic and personal growth.
