What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The most valuable aspect about tutoring for me is the connections I build with students as I learn about the goals they are trying to reach and the ways they learn best.
I also love the way it also challenges me to think outside of the box - I have to think not only about what I am tutoring, but also the way I am presenting the information so that the sessions are valuable and providing help that they are not receiving in school or from others.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I am a very empathetic person, so I really want to help a student understand concepts with as much ease as possible and remove the arduousness from learning.
In working with so many different groups throughout high school as a mentor, I have experienced many different learning styles and encountered different challenges that I have had to overcome. This has made me a creative problem solver when it comes to my tutoring ability.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor must do for a student is to really take time to listen to and understand the areas that they are struggling with so that they are not giving up valuable out of school time and not making progress - I firmly believe that play and rest is just as important as studying and working when you are a primary and secondary student in a period of adolescence.
I also consider being organised a very important part of being a tutor. Again, time is precious and tutors should be as efficient as possible in sessions to achieve maximum benefit out of the time.
