What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I have always enjoyed learning, and more specifically, learning about maths, therefore tutoring allows me to pass on knowledge on subjects I am passionate about. It has also strengthened my communication skills, as tutoring various students with different learning styles requires flexibility to adjust the style of communication.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am patient when teaching new concepts, and am flexible in my teaching methods. If a student does not understand a concept the first time, I will approach it from a different perspective and employ a different tactic that they might respond to better. I believe that the use of examples to solidify comprehension is vital and will provide numerous examples until the student and I are both confident that they have fully grasped the concept.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Rather than provide a template the student has to learn and fit new information into as they approach different questions, I find it is more important to guide the student in their understanding of new concepts so that they gain a more holistic understanding. This enables them to approach questions where the format is changed from how they had learned with increased confidence, as instead of trying to fit the information from the question into a rigid formula, they can apply their understanding of the concept to the question, no matter the form it appears in.
