What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy tutoring for a variety of different reasons. For one, tutoring forces you to think through the basics of the subject matter, which makes you better at doing that thing. This in turn makes you a better communicator. I have also come to understand that tutoring is not just all explaining mathematical expressions or equations. It can also involve teaching students about time management, exam strategy, and stress management. As a student myself, what I enjoy about practising these skills constantly with my students, is that it also becomes second nature in my own studies too.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a tutor and student, I understand that studying is everyone's nightmare, but learning is beautiful. So I strive to help students learn in ways that are adaptive to their learning styles. I realize that not everyone learns the same way. Some students are visual learners while others could be verbal learners. I believe my strengths are displayed through adapting my teaching style to match the students learning style.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe there are several services a tutor can provide to their student. Successful tutors build strong relationships with their students and fill a different role than teachers and parents. I believe this to be true from personal experience. To get into Med school I had to face interviews after sitting the UCAT. For this, I received tuition, which propelled and amplified my foundational skills and helped me secure a spot in Medicine. I believe the personal relationship between the tutor and student is foundational to the student's success.
