What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I get a great sense of satisfaction, pride, and joy when I see children get their 'lightbulb moment'. Seeing their eyes light up as they finally fully understand the topic at hand or come up with an amazing phrase/line for an essay/creative piece makes me smile almost as wide as the child does.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
After working with children for six years now, I think that my biggest strength as a tutor would be my interpersonal skills. I aim to make children feel valued, happy, and comfortable as they begin to learn, as I believe that having a strong tutor/tutee relationship with children enlarges both their capacity for learning and capacity to achieve great things. I also believe that this relationship helps children to be open and honest about whether they are struggling or understanding the content at hand! I also love finding fun ways to incentivize learning and revision.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
1) To help the student find a lifelong passion for learning that will see them grow and develop in amazing ways. 2) Aid the student in cementing study habits that they enjoy, encouraging revision and active learning. 3) Assist the student to understand that their mind is brilliant and their voice is heard and matters. This will help foster a strong tutor/tutee relationship, encourage the child to think creatively and meaningfully, and will also help keep the child focussed and on track with their work and learning, as they know they can do anything they put their mind to.
