What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have always believed that through teaching, one gains more knowledge. This has encouraged me to tutor my juniors and batchmates from a very young age in subjects that they find difficult. Sharing my knowledge and experience with others gives me a sense of sheer joy and satisfaction, coupled with a desire to learn more. I am hence currently appointed as Engineering and IT Student Ambassador and Melbourne Peer Mentor at The University of Melbourne, wherein my ultimate motive is to spread the spark of knowledge & innovation to young minds.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My teaching method definitely varies according to the students that I have. I focus on making the class interesting, while not losing sight from the main objectives to be learned. I essentially break down tasks into sub tasks to make every study goal achievable. I keep ensuring periodically throughout the sessions that every student is able to follow and indulge in the material with interest.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is identify each student's individuality and therefore handle them uniquely, with utmost care and understanding. It is also extremely important for the tutor to be aware of verbal or behavioral feedback received from the student, and therefore be able to modify their teaching methods with note taking tips, color coding concepts and other visual teaching techniques to ensure constant engagement and maximum knowledge retention by the student.
