What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy combining my two skills of looking after children and being able to help academically. I received very little help at school with my academia and had to self teach, so I have a soft spot for helping children who are struggling and are in the same position as I was at school.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my extensive nannying experience helps me to connect with children in a way where I can effectively teach them while making them feel comfortable and at ease. I don’t want to be a tutor who inflicts dread onto children, and my nannying experience would help me to make a child’s tutoring experience as helpful yet fun!
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Personally I think the most important thing for a tutor to do for a child is to create a fun and helpful environment. A child obviously will disengage with a tutor and learning content if the tutor is detrimentally critical of a student which would instill fear and anxiety in the child and in fact, make them absorb less of what the tutor is learning. As someone with autism, I have dealt with a lot of unfortunate situations, so I can understand children quite well because hey, I was one of those kids who copped it the worse. Children already have teachers at school who berate. That’s not me.
