What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy seeing my students develop as I teach them a subject. I really like to see how capable I am in taking a student and transforming their understanding of concepts.
I also enjoy learning about myself as a teacher and understanding what truly makes me be perceived as a good mentor versus an ordinary one.
Moreover, preparing lessons is fun to me as it allows me stay involved in the tutoring process and truly help my students.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Sincerity:
I think due my sincere nature, I make sure that I understand my student’s problems and try to solve them. I try to prepare for lessons so that my student is getting
the most out of my teaching. I will never try to mislead any of my students of being more capable than I am.
Adaptable:
I can gauge my teaching style and content according to my student. If I feel my student is not very perceptive to one teaching style, I might use another. For example
some students are visual learners, so I might use visual cues such as drawings and pictures to help them understand a concept.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Setting up Basics:
I think it is crucial for a tutor to cover the basics of any given concept before going into the more complex concepts.
Creating a good relationship with student:
If a relationship of mutual understanding is created where the student and teacher can bounce ideas of each other and the student feels appreciated, the student will be more involved in doing well in the subject.
Listening to the student:
I think it is a skill a lot of tutors lack. I believe a tutor should be able to listen to their students instead of just imposing their thought process.
