The most important thing a tutor can do is to make the student feel at ease with the subject at hand, especially to the point where they begin their own individual methods of inquiry into the subject. A student should never feel under pressure to perform in ways that make them feel discouraged about their own abilities. The consequence of that is them losing interest in improving their already present potential.
