What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Finding out how a student learns, and tailoring explanations of concepts in a way that they can understand easily. Although it is very rewarding to see a student understand concepts and score well, i know satisfying my expectations are not the main aim of tutoring, but developing the student's ability to question things and take their own interest to explore a topic. Inspiring a student about the value of education and learning is the most enjoyable part of tutoring for me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
- I take initiative to practice and write out my own step y step solutions to the problem before i give it to a student to practice their concept.
- I am able to use visual aid, may even bring props to class to help a student understand( geometry and angles/ degree) and find videos for to watch for more interactive learning, as compared to just pen and paper
- i do not only just teach, but always make sure that i test a students understanding and memory of a topic after, so as to not accumulate too many things to study in the last minute, but cultivate consistent study habits
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that teaching is not about pumping a student with exam papers or to make them memorise the answers and get good grades, for my satisfaction. But about really making sure the student understands a concept, so that they have a strong foundation and can apply to it many different question styles. This will actively stimulate creativity and thinking, not just regurgitation. This is what i enjoy most, seeing that a student is actively learning to develop their own curiosity & interest, and performing to the best of their ability.
