What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I appreciate the opportunity to create a learning experience for students that is more direct and personal from what they encounter in a classroom environment. The one-on-one nature of tutoring (or tutoring in small groups), affords the opportunity to build relationships with students and better understand them, not only academically, but also as young individuals. I thoroughly enjoy learning about student interests/ambitions and the various ways that they learn. I try to use this information to help students better understand content and make learning a more enjoyable experience for them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe my strengths lie in being completely friendly and approachable to all of my students. I find that when my students know that I care about their progress (academically but also outside of tutoring), they are more receptive to learning and to putting in the effort to develop their skills. Through this, I try to exercise qualities of leadership and guidance which I have been able to grow as a tutor. I believe I am also adept at identifying areas of improvement for students and working on methods to improve that are specific to how the individual student best learns.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that making tutoring an enjoyable experience for the student is the most important thing a tutor can do. I find that this can be achieved through tailoring lessons to how the student learns best and engaging in conversion about their interests. By making tutoring something that the student looks forward to, tutors can motivate and encourage students to maintain an interest in what they're learning even outside of lessons. Making classes fun and enjoyable for the student also makes them more receptive to the content being taught, which in turn enables them to perform better at school.
