What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

In my brief informal experience in tutoring, I was able to teach math, specifically probability, as this is one of the fundamental exams for the actuarial career. I really enjoyed explaining the techniques that I know about the subject matter. I felt a sense of accomplishment whenever my tutee understood what I was teaching. More importantly, I get the satisfaction whenever they answer the questions on their own, using the techniques that I taught to them. Truly tutoring gives me a sense of accomplishment while teaching the subject that I love and I use in my corporate career.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

As a tutor, I can say that one of my strengths is that I never stop repeating the topic until the tutee understands the topic really well. I believe that no topic should be left unfinished, so the tutor must not skip any topic until it is really clear to the tutee. I can say I have the patience to repeat the topic as many times as needed. Another strength that I can mention is that I was able to study a wide range of math subjects because of my college course, and because of the actuarial exams. With that, I should be able to teach the math lessons of the tutees very well.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

A tutor should first be the student's friend. We should build camaraderie towards our students so that they will be willing to listen to us, which will give the teachers easier time throughout the sessions. Tutors should also give their best to teach their students and give quality education. They should ensure the students learn the lessons well and they should give enough patience to them. There will be some instances wherein the student can be very challenging, hence tutors should remain professional and remember their goal, which is to give quality education to the students.
