What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy the most about tutoring is the joy that you get when a student finally understands something after struggling for so long on it. I feel that students have so much potential within them but they just do not understand where to start with certain problems. Therefore, if they are given guidance and some support they are able to achieve great things. I feel as though the more the student has trust in their tutor, the more confident they feel in themselves to understand certain concepts.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths personally are that I am respectful, innovative, friendly, patient and persistent. I believe that these students deserve to be treated with a level of respect but that they should also be greeted by a friendly, happy face during their tutoring sessions so that they feel motivated to get something done that day. I will be patient with them as I understand that it is hard to catch on to a concept straight away and sometimes it may take time and multiple attempts before they understand something. I will also be persistent because I know that they should not give up.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think a tutor has to cater their teaching methods according to particular students. For example, if you find that the student best learns by a tactile approach, I would recommend using more activities that help them learn rather than just working through questions on a piece of paper. I think this can make a big difference in the student's enthusiasm levels as well as how well they understand a concept. I also think it is important for a tutor to be able to show a certain concept in multiple different ways to a student. The student might not understand it in the same way that you did.
