A tutor must act as a mentor for the student to grow in their goals. When I was tutoring primary students I found that their teacher would often just provide them with answers and ask them to memorise it rather than lead them to reach the answers themselves. I disagree with this mentality, finding that the most important aspect of tutoring is helping the student learnt to their full capability.
