What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I felt a sense of accomplishment when the students I tutored enjoyed learning the subject at the same time shown improvement in their academic skills. I also enjoyed when the student able to enjoy the whole learning experience with me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I focus more in understanding the student's learning style that he/she prefers and teach the student the way he/she can learn effectively. I am also patient to my students by not scolding them but to encourage my students to think. I usually provide them hints or other similar examples on questions that they might have difficulties in answering. I am also a good listener by listening to them attentively on questions that they might encounter or even their feedback on the tutoring experience they have with me. Thus, I am flexible in my teaching style to optimise student's learning experience.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
One of the most important things that I think a tutor can do for a student is to be patient and be willing to share the knowledge and experiences with the student. It is important to let students know that they are not alone when they encountered any difficulties and tutor is not annoyed. Tutor will always be there when he/she needs help in improving their performance for the subject. This is a process of building trust and support between tutor and student for a better learning experience. In addition, it also helps the students to build their self-confidence.

Had a slight chat with the student on how she felt about the mock trial exam she had on last Thurs. She claimed that the only question she was not quite familiar with was related to network & paths. The remaining questions are similar to those she has been practicing so far which is a good sign.
Still yet to have the habit of backchecking her work even though I have reminded her numerous times. Still tends to have ‘silly’ mistakes which can be avoided.
There was a great improvement on Section 2 however there are a number of repeated mistakes which can be avoided if she spends some time back checking her work.

Weaker in wordings where the questions were asking to solve two equations graphically and failed to plot them in the graph. Still weaker in financial maths.

Student claimed that her teacher from the school returned her mock trial exam and left it unmarked. She tried to mark parts of the paper by herself however the answer booklet given to her is not straightforward. I have offered to mark the paper for her.
Not familiar with the concept on cumulative frequency and still tends to have careless mistakes
Focused on revising some of the important concepts. A great improvement was seen as compared to our very first lesson.

She needs to be constantly reminded her to back check her works.
