Grace seemed confident about her performance on her recent linear relations test. Grace was able to identify which areas she struggled with. Grace was remembering techniques previously learned quickly. Grace was able to ask me questions when she didn't understand the basic fundamentals of a topic (e.g. notations for surds), this is an improvement from previous sessions. Grace was not distracted by the TV this session. Sequential flow of questions were improved, we worked from easy questions to hard questions in the topics she struggled with
Grace needed to get started on her notes for the exam last session but left it to the last minute. Grace struggled understanding some basic fundamentals of surds, I've noticed this before where she struggles to understand the beginning of a topic but picks it up later on. If Grace understands a topic at the beginning it will prevent her from struggling with a topic later on.

Grace seemed more prepared for this topic in comparison to previous topics. Grace knew which questions were an issue and addressed them succinctly. When solving a harder problem, I asked Grace if she wanted me to show her another example. I found that this was a better way of grasping her understanding instead of asking her directly whether she understood my explanation. Grace's notebook was more organised than previous sessions which made locating questions much easier. Grace mentioned that this was a topic she felt comfortable with, as well as algebra.
Grace seemed distracted by the TV this session. The broadness of the topic made it difficult to transition from one troublesome question to the next, next session I will work to improve the sequential flow of the questions we cover. Note: in preparation for the exam, Grace mentioned she wasn't confident in surds, indices and trig.

Grace got a 7/8 on her last assessment (Great job!). Grace seemed to understand the questions once I explained them to her and seemed confident to complete the remaining textbook questions. Grace could clearly identify which questions she had problems with and why, which helped guide the session.
I wasn't sure if Grace fully understood some aspects of our session, also she still had limited knowledge of algebra (solving for equations) without the use of a calculator. Grace should speak up if she doesn't understand something that I say. This is something we will work on in future sessions.

Face to face tutoring resulted in a much better session. Grace had really great results from her last assessments (7/8 and 9/10), we were very happy with those marks. Grace asked lots of questions to ensure she had a solid understanding of the questions. We managed to cover the entire task, Grace seemed confident in completing it in her own time.
Grace only attempted the first question by herself (She only got the assignment on Monday, so this was understandable). Grace misread the 1st question of the task resulting in an incorrect response, this error could have been avoided through thorough reading of the question.
