What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy being able to help students grasp new concepts that at first feel intangible, and develop their understanding to grasp the concepts in a meaningful way, rather than purely off rote learning. It is also satisfying to see students become intrigued and excited towards a subject that can be initially confronting, by showing interesting ways the topic can be applied.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I think my main strengths as a tutor is my excitement for my topics, especially for mathematics. Having caught an interest since high school, I found the subject to be very engaging alongside the outstanding teachers and professors involved as I moved on to university studies. Having appreciated such leading examples I aim to also impress the same excitement in my own teaching methods.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I consider the most important thing a tutor can do is to ensure the students are able to appreciate the studies they are undertaking. I feel the most important factor in learning is one's own motivation, and from personal experiences, this is linked with how much the subject is appreciated and enjoyed. Thus I recall how many students feel a subject is difficult based on how poorly they view the usefulness or relevance of a subject, so I think being able to present a topic in a positive manner will strongly motivate a student towards learning as best they can.
