What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Education, I once read, “is not the filling of a vessel but the kindling of a flameâ€Â and it is with this quote of Socrates’ that I identify my principles of teaching. Tutoring, to me, is synonymous with inspiring, it is to inspire students to not only learn but also to think for themselves. Thus, allowing them to understand the paramount role education plays in the world. Besides imparting knowledge, teaching involves building competencies within students, allowing them to form into functional adults. Hence, the greatest joy in tutoring, for me, lies in sparking a love of learning.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I think my biggest strength lies within the strong rapport I am able to forge with my students. This is essential as it encourages and motivates students to pay attention in class, as my friendly approach to content makes sessions highly engaging. Moreover, my teaching style- relating content-heavy subjects to real-life situations- has proven to be yet another strength of mine, as it enables students to understand the value of their studies in real life and enhances clarity.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Having recently completed my High School Education and being in the process of pursuing my law degree, I have a profound understanding of the importance of a tutor's role in a student's education. Hence, I believe that it is essential that a tutor listens to their student's concerns regarding a particular subject and assists the student by gradually working through such concerns. Furthermore, I think tutors have the power to transform students' perspective on subjects, as they can cultivate a love for learning and passion for subjects simply by altering their approach to suit students.
