A tutor must adapt to the strengths of a student. Different students have different ways of understanding concepts. For example, some need written explanations and some are comfortable with verbal explanations. Keeping this is mind is key to helping a student. Also, it is very important for a tutor to make a student comfortable enough for him/her to ask doubts without hesitating.
