A slightly niche strength for older English students, is that my specialty is Shakespeare. I know that the way Shakespeare is taught in schools makes it difficult to grasp. I think the most important thing about being a tutor is meeting your students on their terms. What I mean by that is that you never make them feel stupid for not knowing, or not understanding something. I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to help not feel embarrassed by the gaps in their knowledge, and work with them to remove those gaps, in a more relaxed and less high-pressure environment than in the classroom.Testimonials 🏆
