What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy meeting kids from all different walks of life and helping them to engage with their work. I love the look they get on their face when they finally understand something that they had been struggling with.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

my strengths as a tutor are my ability to remain calm under pressure, to wrangle groups of children well and keep them focused. A slightly niche strength for older English students, is that my specialty is Shakespeare. I know that the way Shakespeare is taught in schools makes it difficult to grasp. I know my expertise could be of assistance in this case.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing about being a tutor is meeting your students on their terms. What I mean by that is that you never make them feel stupid for not knowing, or not understanding something. I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to help not feel embarrassed by the gaps in their knowledge, and work with them to remove those gaps, in a more relaxed and less high-pressure environment than in the classroom.

Testimonials 🏆
