What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The sense of being a leader or guru that comes from influencing a young person in some tangible, positive way, helping them make essential connections, or developing their character is what makes tutoring the most exciting for me. Each tutor is an expert in his/her subject, but may also know something about growing up, making choices, and shaping a life. I see tutoring not just as a way to fill in the holes that are left at the end of the school day, but as infinitely fulfilling, important work that bridges worlds and builds a stronger future for children, one at a time.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

Two of my biggest strengths as a tutor are flexibility and patience. Being flexible means I have the willingness to adjust certain techniques or teaching approaches to meet the requirements of each individual student. Understanding that certain subjects may be more difficult for a student to grasp, being patient and taking things slower for them is essential. I try not to show annoyance in such situations but be willing to explain in further detail until I am sure that the student is ready to move on.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

Helping students achieve their potential, adapting to kid's individual needs, building lasting relationships based on shared goals these are some of the impacts of a tutor on the student. But the most incredible aspect of tutoring is that it merges education and what is usually called enrichment. A good tutor can combine subjects in interdisciplinary projects, incorporate the student's interests and creativity, stay constantly attuned to the student's self-image, and model a broader conception of learning that involves all of our senses, exploration, tolerance, and dialogue.
