What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I haven't done tutoring yet, but I closely work with young children at the moment. What I love to see is their own personal growth. As a student fresh out of high school and newly entering university, I can really relate to the drive that students have to excel. Not only can I see things from a tutor's perspective, but in the eyes of the students too.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe two important traits to hold are patience and understanding, qualities which I believe I possess. I think it's vital to know that each individual has a different learning technique and speed, and as tutors we have to work to best mould the session for each student's needs.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Identifying the individual's strengths and weaknesses. Not only trying to help building on the weak points, but also reassuring and building their confidence by highlighting how much they already know.
Also finding a strategy that they learn best, e.g. explaining new concepts by touching on processes they are already familiar with.
