What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Watching their knowledge grow. My favourite thing is when I go through a question with a student and show them the technique to use and why we use it, and then get them to do one, and they say something along the lines of "Don't tell me, I can do it" or "Let me try by myself" and the student working through the question by themselves and getting it right (or nearly right).My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I can explain things in different ways to find whatever way of thinking about the problem makes sense for the student. After I explain something, generally by working through a problem, I get the student to do several problems until we're both confident that they understand the question and the method of solving it. I'm generally relaxed and flexible, able to stay late, leave early, or start at a different time. I have a fair bit of experience with children and I'm friendly with students.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Assist with their understanding. It's much more helpful for a student if they know why they are using a certain method or technique, rather than just memorising the sort of question a technique should be used for. Understanding of what they're doing makes it easier for them to remember how to answer questions, and it makes it easier to apply their knowledge to new or more difficult questions.Subjects Tutored 🎓
