What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping students not only learn maths, but develop a deeper understanding and enjoyment of the subject. Since I find maths very interesting, I enjoy trying to pass on that interest to my students.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am very versatile and adaptable as a tutor depending on the student's needs. I can vary my pace, my teaching style and even my personality depending on what I think best suits a student. However, my biggest strength in my opinion is my pursuit of a deeper understanding. I try very hard for students to truly understand what they're learning, so they not only (hopefully) enjoy maths more, they can adapt to any type of question an exam might throw at them!

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Teach at the student's pace! This was something I personally had to work on a lot as I kept wanting to get further, forgetting my purpose was to teach someone else. Now I try my hardest to make sure my students understand everything before jumping into the next section. Put the students in a position where they think it's okay to ask questions. I often find students want to prove they understand or how smart they are, which inhibits them from asking questions. I feel asking questions is an imperative aspect of learning which should be fostered, which I try to emphasise throughout my lessons
