What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoying interacting with young people. I would like to share my knowledge and learn with them at times. However, the most rewarding part of becoming a tutor will be to see my students reaching their potentials.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am a friendly and easy going person. I do not have a demanding nature, so I do not request things to be done by students. Rather, I encourage students and get them to see the bigger picture, once they become motivated, they will do it for themselves.
I also believe students learn differently, not one size fits all. Although it will take a little while to figure out what type of learner I am working with at the beginning. I believe between the parent(s) and myself; we will work out a plan which suits the student's needs and providing resources to facilitate the learning.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Listen. Good listening skill is a must. Because it may be the only chance that the student is willing to share with an adult what is really going on. I find sometimes comprehending the texts or the assignments are not student's weakest areas. It may be a case when the student has questions such as "how do I write a report?" or "what is a PEEL paragraph?". Therefore, a tutor should never stop communication with the student and parents.
