What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Probably the aspect of others enjoying it. At first, many people dislike tutoring because in a way they are forced to work. It isn't until they relax and we truly work through the issues that they start to enjoy themselves and most importantly, gain confidence in themselves.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Expertise and Patience.
After graduating from high school. Not only have I maintained my mathematical skills, but I have purposely improved them by majoring in mathematics at university.
Patience when dealing with any student is vital. You need to be aware that things won't click immediately, that's the reason you're even there. Helping a student through problems they have without pushing them through it I believe is vital. Getting fed up with a student is only going to hurt any progress you or they may have made.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Improving confidence and passion.
Without confidence, you won't even ask for help. This is why we must distil a solid foundation of knowledge in students so they both know what they need to improve on and how to ask for help with it.
From here you build passion, once mathematics stops being a 'scary' subject it can become a fair bit of fun. This want to do maths is important as without it, students may never even want to progress.
