What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy the actual 'education' component of tutoring the most. I feel a sense of pride when I am able to explain a concept to a child or colleague that they previous did not understand. To see the acknowledgment and understanding in their face, like a "light bulb moment", is fulfilling to me and makes me feel as though I have impacted and helped them on a personal level. To see them then suceed from my guidance is even more enjoyable for me.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am an analytical person and I feel that this is one of my strengths when it comes to tutoring. An important part of learning, especially maths, is understand the key concepts behind the questions. If a student understands the concept thoroughly then it will allow them to complete any question that is put to them. Therefore with my analytical mindset, I am able to understand concepts enough that I can explain them through a variety of means to help the child learn and understand in their own way.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Through my previous experience, I find that giving a student confidence is the most valuable aspect of tutoring. Often children may be embarrassed or not engage in a class enough to ask a question, and therefore they fall further behind. One-to-one tutoring is able to engage a student on an individual level to help them learn at their own speed and in their own way. This will then allow them to feel confident and engaged in the classroom to enable them to further succeed.
