What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Nothing quite compares to the rewarding feeling one has when their student 'connects the dots' and finally understands something that was once complicated and confusing to them. Tutoring brings worthwhile experience of human connections and professional development. I feel as though I have made a positive difference in the world when a student's passion for learning and improving grows, and when I see that I am helping someone build confidence in themselves to be able to achieve anything.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am friendly and enthusiastic, and passionate to help students achieve their goals. I am persistent and hard-working, and genuinely care about my students. I have a solid understanding of the feelings of insecurity, low confidence, frustration and confusion that students experience while tackling academic topics that they have never encountered before, or cannot seem to wrap their head around. These past experiences allow me to relate to a student of any age, and thus a bond can be formed, from which a trusting and enthusiastic tutor-student connection can emerge! I am reliable, and having a tutor you can depend on makes a real difference.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I will consistently encourage all my students to always try, and practise, and try again, until they master whatever they were first struggling with. Their dreams become my dreams for them, so I will never let my students give up on reaching their goals. Improvements do not happen overnight, but whenever they do happen, no matter how small, I believe it is important to acknowledge and celebrate my students moving a step forward. I strongly believe practice makes perfect, so my students will be given practice material at all times. One of the most important things for all tutors to do, I believe, is to treat their student as an individual. We need to understand the character of our student, continually observe what kind of teaching techniques and learning techniques work best with the individual student, and therefor tailor each following tutoring session to best match the student so each session can be as productive and useful as possible. Additionally, I am not here to judge and criticise. My job is also to be as supportive as I can be, and I am definitely capable of being a solid support system.
