What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Being a tutor, I find nothing more gratifying and fulfilling than the points when my students understand a challenging concept. Creating a more personalised learning context for my students allows me to get to know their specific requirements and what helps them learn best. The result of applying my understanding of their learning style, allowing them to succeed to their fullest potential, is the best part of being a tutor.
Equally, the lasting effects of this - encouraging passion in a student - is also pretty great.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe that I am highly adaptable. Iβve seen a range of students with vastly different learning styles and have learned how to play to their unique requirements to maximise their potential.
An example of this was when teaching a Year 11 chemistry student about the role of error in a practical. He was struggling to understand the paragraphs of information in his textbook so I βsimulatedβ the hands on practical experience. going through each step as you would do them in real life. This was exceedingly successful and allowed him to go on to achieve a higher grade in his test on the subject.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most crucial thing that a tutor can do for their student is to encourage not only their understanding of a subject/topic but also their passion and enthusiasm for it. I believe that allowing a student to flourish in an environment tailored to them allows them to treat their studies less as a chore and more as a passion.
This not only puts the student in a better state of mind, but also opens them up to countless possibilities in further study. After all, unlocking the potential of students is what leads to innovation.
