What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Tutoring definitely has been a learning curve for me as I learned about my students and what were the most effective methods for them. I had to adapt to their different levels of understanding and/or their skills. I get very passionate when helping my students, hence I do tend to launch into descriptions, trying to use easy words and hand gestures to visually aid their understanding. Whenever students start making progress and get more confident, not only is it a boost for them, but I feel very rewarded.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think I am a responsible but also a very compassionate adult. I get along with teenagers very well but I also have a firm hand, which is very important to maintain a disciplined work environment. Being a patient individual, I do not mind twisting and turning my teaching methods to adapt them to each student's needs.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I reckon trying to keep the student enthusiastic and motivated about his/her work is one of the most important things to think about as a tutor. Students should never feel like they are trying in vain. Keeping their morale high can lead to great results. Also, aiming to develop independent thinking skills of the student is critical because he/she can push for more by taking a technical approach to things.
