What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

- the challenge of finding ways to express or explain something that click with the person I'm talking to - sharing practical advice I have benefited from in the past - helping people to hone their skills, and refining mine in the process - being able to put my strengths to good use - hopefully being able to inspire people to enjoy a subject I'm passionate about, or at least make it less of a chore for them. - gaining experience in the field, as I intend to pursue teaching after finishing my undergraduate degree

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

- ability to adapt explanations to resonate better with an individual student - enthusiasm for the subject - strong grasp of what's required in producing good written work - confidence in the subject matter and a strong background in analysing literature (not just academically, but as someone who does this constantly in my spare time)

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

- be willing to let them lay out their own ideas, plans, or problems before jumping in. - help them find what interests them and motivates them in a given subject - help them understand exactly what assignments require of them, so they know what they're working towards. - help them get to the bottom of whatever difficulties they face in understanding course material or achieving the grades they'd like. - coach them in how to write a good essay; not just for the sake of grades, but because I think learning to write is the most important thing a humanities subject can teach you.
