What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy tutoring itself the most. I think it's one of the best jobs to have because you have a variety of personalities and ways of learning to adapt to and it's rewarding going through the motion and solving problems.
Of course it's also a great feeling when your student or their parents excitedly tell you that they aced the test.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I consider myself very patient. I believe that being calm and working through the problem along with your student is one of the best methods, rather than doing the work for them or getting frustrated.
I also consider myself quick to solve a problem. It's frustrating when you hire a tutor and they take a while to solve the problem themselves so that they can explain it to you.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think it's incredibly important to respect the student's individuality. All students learn in different ways so it's important for a tutor to be versatile and very adaptable. Explaining concepts in different ways, solving problems using different methods, etc.
I also think it's important for tutors to make sure a student understands rather than just doing the work beside them. Sometimes students feel overwhelmed or they don't interject because they don't want to speak up so it's important that a tutor doesn't continue until they're certain the student is confident in their work.
