What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love learning and helping others to learn. I like to ask questions of pupils and to get them thinking, gently nudging them in the right direction without directly telling them answers
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am good at using metaphorical or real world examples to convey abstract concepts such as algebra or counter intuitive notions in physics.
I can teach memorisation and revision techniques for those pupils who struggle to retain information.
I am friendly and personable and like to start by building rapport with pupils - I am not like a traditional teacher in this sense, more like a mentor, and always ensure I provide a healthy balance between learning fundamental concepts, however, boring they seem, and investigating more engaging topics to develop a sense of curiosity for the subject.
Most important things I can do for a student π
To develop their natural curiosity for the world around them, leaving pupils with a natural desire to find out more and begin asking their own questions, reading their own books or performing their own experiments.
