What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What attracts me most to tutoring and any form of teaching is interacting with people. I have always worked in a customer service area which required me to work with different ages of people. I have built my communication and networking skills through this which has made me recognize my passion to help others, hence why I am studying to become a doctor to further practice my passion.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
As a tutor, I believe my top strengths include communication, patience, and attentiveness. When working with younger aged students, communication is key. This might refer to repeating myself over and over or explaining concepts in a detailed manner. I have had numerous experiences with tutoring include teaching swimming to students of all ages. My experience trained me to learn about the different type of teaching methods and how to asses what works best for a student.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important attribute a tutor should have for a student is making them feel welcomed and included so they are comfortable to ask as many questions as they need and make as many mistakes as needed. When a student is comfortable with their tutor, they arenβt afraid to keep asking questions which allows them to learn best. Listening to a student and handling them with patience is the best way to build this attribute and become an amazing tutor for their student.
