What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Being able to see the kids' faces light up when they realise they're capable! As someone who has always understood Math but struggled in a couple of other subjects such as History, it felt great when I finally grasped the topic. I wanted other people to feel the same way about Math, to get that sense of relief when you finally understand what you're doing.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm wonderful at communication, I'm patient/do not get frustrated easily, and I am very adaptable (I will try different methods for learning, no one kid is the same), and I am very empathetic. I am the oldest grandchild of 5 on my mother's side, so I have that experience to thank.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Empathy! Having a tutor that struggles (hopefully not anymore) with a subject definitely helps because they are able to understand what you are doing through and are less likely to get frustrated that you cannot grasp a concept, no matter how "simple" it may be.

About Cassia
Hi, I'm Melanie!
I'm a commerce and advanced computing (majoring in accounting and computational data science) student at the university of Sydney and as someone who is passionate about math and kids (I have a younger brother and many, many younger cousins), no other job is perfect for me. I tutor math for all grades, and am willing to connect and work with your child in order for them to see the results that they (and you) want to see!
My favourite tutoring experience
A girl wanted to increase her math mark by 15%, and through lots of hard work, practice, and perseverance, she managed to surpass that goal. Her mark shot up by 20% and she secured an A!

Her foundation. We have been working on that, and she did mention that she memorises a lot of thew work because her teacher isn't the easiest to work with, so I'm glad she acknowledged the fact that her foundation does need a bit of work. She's a quick learner though, so she'll be more than okay.

Confidence! She knows her content so I would say her one need is to trust her gut and be confident in her working.
