What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I've always liked explaning things to others and I like to work with young people. These two are the reasons why I become a teacher. During my studies in Germany, which I have fully completed, I did replacements for absent teachers for 3 years. And although it has been stressful sometimes, I always enjoy the moments when I explain something to a single student who had a question and I can help him understand it.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I'd consider myself a very friendly person, I'm empathetic and supportive to others. I have taken care of others in some occasions, for example as a youth group leader or in a 1 to 1 partnership with a primary student. I also know that a self-concept of ability is very important for a student for learning. Because of this, I'm encouraging stundents that they can learn and I want to promote a feeling that they are able to solve tasks. Most importantly, having studied Maths as one of my subjects in Secondary Education, I have learned tools to help students understand mathematical topics better.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

As I said, I think a positive self-concept about his abilities in Maths for example is important for a student. So one important thing for a tutor is to promote confidence and to praise a student for positive changes. And it is to encourage to do more. It's also important to focus on individual needs, so to analyse where very individual difficulties are. And a tutor should find where key understandings are wrong or unprecise and then help understand these better, for exaple by providing visualisations in some situations.
