What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have genuinely always been super passionate about teaching ; seeing the moment when a concept truly clicks for a student—that shift to confidence—is like an award to me! I love explaining topics by using real-world examples so students understand 'why' they’re learning something. For eg, math in action is the Fibonacci sequence, which appears in pine cones. I use this to explain that math isn’t just numbers, but a way to understand the fascinating world around us. Seeing my students grow, improve and make their parents proud, makes me happy, knowing I played a small role in that success.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor lie in my ability to break down complex concepts into simpler, relatable ideas, making learning more accessible. I focus on scaffolding their existing knowledge, ensuring we build on what they already understand. I also bring enthusiasm to my teaching, using interactive techniques like quizzes to keep students engaged. I proactively monitor each student’s progress, identifying weaker areas and providing targeted support to help them improve. I believe my amiable and kind nature is key, as it creates a comfortable space for students to clarify doubts without hesitation.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I begin by understanding each student's overall personality, any specific goals they might have, and the kind of approach/level of interest they have towards studying in general. This helps me gauge which learning style works best for a student, and I then tailor my teaching methods, using techniques like visual aids, discussions, or hands-on activities, to best match their strengths. Additionally, I take regular feedback from students on the pace of teaching and their comfort level with the material to ensure consistent alignment with their learning needs. Doing this creates a bond of trust!
