What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

There are many aspects of tutoring I enjoy. When I was a high-school student, I learnt things from the basics, and hence was able to be confident and capable in the higher level topics. I feel that most other students just memorised things. When I complex explain things from the most fundamental facts to students, I can see the look of surprise to their faces, which brings me satisfaction. In addition, I just feel great knowing that I helped a student learn, as these students will be the leaders of the future.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Knowledge - I have only applied to teach the subjects I am confident in. I can break down complex topics into smaller, understandable parts. Compassion - I was once a student, so I try to treat them the same way I would like to be treated when I was a student. I let students feel heard, and try to make them feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Inspiration - I have a passion for Maths and Physics. I try to make students feel inspired and fascinated by these subjects so they enjoy studying them.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is foster a student's confidence in their ability. This includes clear explanation, encouraging questions and reassessments, and celebrating small achievements. A tutor should help student develop problem solving skills that they can use independently. The goal for a tutor should be to empower students to take ownership of their learning and develop a mindset that will help them in life, beyond the tutoring sessions.
