What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy watching and helping students learn subjects that will aid them in their academic and career life. Tutoring allows me to get to know different people and their different ways of learning and understanding how people learn. From this, I can apply this to my current studying situations in uni, where I am undertaking many assignments and projects with a diverse group of people. Having gained the empathy and understanding of how people learn, I am able to adapt and give advice to my peers.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am very passionate about the subjects that I have completed in high school. Mainly subjects that lean towards my degree of civil engineering. Sciences have always been an interest to me and I love to learn more about the 'whys' and 'hows' of this world. From this, I enjoy teaching and talking about the subjects to people.
My name is James and I am a first year university student from Adelaide. I achieved an ATAR of (99.95 University Aggregate) and am currently studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Bachelor of Finance double degree at the University of Adelaide. I have also undertaken a VET course throughout high school granting me a Certificate III in Fitness.
With the experience from tutoring at my graduate school and previous students, I am taking my services to one on one tutoring that can best help you understand the topics in the curriculum. I would love to help you with learning valuable study skills, preparing for tests/exams as well as how to tackle assignments and approach problems.
I offer one-on-one tutoring and drafting. I have my own transport, so I am able to travel around Adelaide and my surrounding suburb area to tutor, as well as libraries and other reasonable places.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to make them feel comfortable to communicate with. Communication is key for a student's success, if they don't know how to do certain things, they can ask the tutor. Sometimes the tutor does not always know the answer, but the tutor is seen as a reliable source so whichever information the tutor conveys, will positively impact the student. Tutors can relate to students, as they have recently completed the subject and are also have experienced the student's schooling subjects recently.
