What do I enjoy most about tutoring? šŸ˜

I enjoy helping students improve and excel in their studies so that their dreams of where they want to be in the future can come true. I also enjoy being a mentor for them, being someone they can trust and feel comfortable around.

My Strengths as Tutor šŸ’Ŗ

I am friendly meaning I can create a safe and healthy environment where my students can put their trust in me and ask any questions or relay any concerns. I am also organised and hardworking, so I will be able to manage my time between university, my extra-curricular and my students, ensuring their success. This is shown through high school, especially during year 12 as I obtained a 99.25 ATAR while being apart of the school water polo, swimming and athletics team, playing in the school orchestra and being a conductor in the house school chorales competition.

Most important things I can do for a student šŸ…

The most important thing a tutor can do is approach teaching in a holistic way so a student can develop necessary skills - like interpersonal skills, to strive not only during high school, but once they graduate. A tutor should be helping their student to excel in their studies in a way that is supplementary to what is taught in school. Lastly, a tutor must also ensure the health and wellbeing of their students and be there to support them in all aspects of life.

About Kieran

Tutoring

I specialise in tutoring mathematical methods and specialist math for both Units 1/2 & 3/4, providing support based on your needs and learning style so you can achieve your goals. I explain tricky concepts in an easy-to-understand manner, working towards applications and exam-style questions and giving exam tips & tricks so you can strive for your best. I also offer Year 5-10 math and science as I know how important a strong foundation is.

Studies & Extra-Curricular

I graduated high school as the Best All Rounder and Sport Champion, achieving an ATAR of 99.25 and a study score of 49 in mathematical methods and 40 in specialist maths. Due to my love for maths and problem solving, I have chosen to undertake a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce at Monash University. Throughout high school and continuing into university, I balance my studies with playing water polo and going swimming. I enjoy music, playing both the piano and violin and catch up with my friends in my free time.

Beliefs

Iā€™m a strong believer in making tutoring, and learning in general, fun, enjoyable and engaging rather than seeming like a chore, so I strive to bring that energy into my classes. I also understand the stresses and pressure of this daunting time, which can lead to burnouts and procrastination. Through my own personal experiences, I managed to overcome these hurdles and now enjoy sharing these strategies with my students so high school can be an amazingly unforgettable time.
