What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy having the freedom to think of new and creative ways of explaining or teaching a topic. From my experience working in schools, I have witnessed how the class size and time constrictions limit the potential for creative teaching methods. I have found that with tutoring, I get more time to understand the individual and how they learn, thus helping me to fully personalise and optimise the way I teach them.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe I am empathetic and patient. I understand how frustrating it is when you just can't understand something so I try to exercise compassion and patience in these tricky moments - validating their struggle but encouraging perseverance and instilling confidence in the individual.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is help them to enjoy the subject and develop their curiosity surrounding the subject. I believe that when a student becomes curious, it is a positive sign that they are feeling more confident with the subject and enjoying it. Asking questions can also be a sign that the student feels comfortable with the tutor. I believe that this is a great step towards success as sometimes there could be emotional barriers to learning which can only be addressed if there is a good rapport between student and tutor.
