What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the sense of accomplishment from helping a student understand a concept or learn a new technique and seeing how it reflects in their results.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I, myself was a high achieving, ambitious student during my time at school, where I learnt many different study and preparation techniques.
Engaging with the student on more than just a surface level makes the tutoring lesson more enjoyable, and the student may find more motivation to listen and learn.
Also, my experience in other settings handling children/teens such as church, youth, student leadership, and peer support programs.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Ensuring they feel that the learning environment is comfortable and safe, where they can ask questions and request feedback on their work.
A tutor should also keep in mind the importance of the uniqueness of each individual, as they will need different teaching styles to cater towards them depending on their age, culture, learning style, etc.

Student didn't get stuck as often and was more willing to give questions a go. Seemed to have refined his understanding, as he more easily could recognise the required concepts to complete questions rather than asking me or going straight to the answer.
Nothing much today. Just again, small mistakes that require back checking or neater working.

Student was tired/unfocused leading to a loss of focus and silly mistakes. Student also struggled interpreting questions. Maybe needs help with math vocab.
Answered majority of Lekshman's questions. Student understood content after going through it.

We ended up running out of time again for me to answer all of his questions. Also I took longer than I would've liked to explain some of the more complex questions.

Student was receptive of criticism and feedback on how to improve as well as basic tips & tricks. Student seemed focused, engaged and attentive to learning and practicing the material given. The student overall worked well, and a basic understanding for how the student works, his learning style, and strengths and weaknesses was noted by I, the tutor.
We ended up running about 15-20 mins overtime because I did not keep the best track of time. I also need to improve my own methods of conveying complex concepts in simple, and broken down ways. Student may need to slow down to avoid silly mistakes, as well as do more practice during the week in a more efficient manner to maximise success.
