What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to help others and share my knowledge in a meaningful way. It’s incredibly rewarding to see someone gain confidence and understanding in a subject they may have struggled with. Being able to make a positive impact on someone’s learning journey is what makes tutoring so fulfilling for me.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe my strengths as a tutor lie in my patience, which allows me to support students at their own pace, and my genuine interest in learning and the subjects I teach, which helps me explain concepts with enthusiasm and clarity. Additionally, my strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the people I tutor ensure that I can adapt to their needs and create a positive, productive learning environment.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, make learning approachable, and tailor their teaching to the student's individual needs. A tutor should create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, while also fostering curiosity and a deeper understanding of the subject. Ultimately, a tutor’s role is to empower students to become more independent and confident in their own abilities.

About Lily

Academic Information

I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) with Maths AI SL, which aligns closely with General Maths in the VCE. Both courses allow the use of a CAS calculator, and the skills required in General Maths directly apply to Maths AI SL, as the mathematics I studied was entirely calculator-based. While my expertise is tailored to students studying to the IB subjects I completed (Maths AI, Biology, Literature, History, Economics, and Spanish), my IB background also enables me to assist in other subjects, particularly Biology, History, and Economics. I am confident in helping with topics I may not have studied directly, thanks to the problem-solving and analytical skills developed through the IB program. Whether it's maths or other areas, I am here to support your learning journey!
