What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the feeling of seeing a student achieve a subject or a topic that they've been struggling on for so long. The delight on a student's face and their realisation of understanding is something that is very enlightening and empowering. As well as this, I enjoy guiding students to a potential that they haven't tapped into, and making them happy because of their education.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I'm extremely adaptable in strategies and techniques when it comes to tutoring. Having a clear understanding of a student's skills, boundaries and challenges is something that I strongly consider as one of my strengths, and then navigating those student(s)' challenges through interactive and impactful teaching, as a following strength. Furthermore, I'd hopefully consider myself as friendly and approachable, which is definitely a keystone in tutoring, as tutors should be kind, guiding and someone students can go to for their educational, and sometimes emotional, problems.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor needs to provide support and consideration of a student's abilities, and empower the student to achieve beyond what they think they can achieve. In particular, for younger students, I believe that tutors can and will help to lay the foundational stones that will provide the driving force to empower students to their best. Even if a student's skill in mathematics, or English, or any other subject 'isn't the best', tutors should and can provide a new perspective and understanding to how the student can improve their skill. Practice makes progress.

I've been doing primary school tutoring for around 3 years, volunteer and paid, and secondary student tutoring for roughly a year. I specialise in English, English as a Second Language, Literature, primary school mathematics, Music (theory and performance) and Biology - however I am also extremely flexible in other subjects such as Economics, Philosophy, basic physics, etc.
What can I do for you?
Of course, I can tutor, and improve your child's skills. However, I can also support, guide and provide extra assistance to your child in whichever way they may need, and I am able to act as an additional contact for your child should they need any help. My times are extremely flexible at the present, therefore, it would not be an issue if you or your child would like additional lessons or help.

Saxon's getting much better at basic mathematics and identifying which process is required for those questions. His practice test scores are going really well, and I have seen a steady improvement.
At this current point in time, I'm more concerned about Saxon's motivation in his subjects and mathematics. Considering his improvement in his skills, it is showing that consistent work provides consistent results. I'll attempt to give him more motivation and confidence :)

Saxon's working out skills and his mental skills for mathematics is a lot better from since we've started. From the practice test, he is also speaking his thoughts out loud on how to write up his answers, and I'm hearing correct answers. His number work has clear steady improvement.
Saxon makes a few process related mistakes on certain questions, such as using addition instead of multiplication, or writing the numbers in the 'wrong' format (the less standardised test way). This sometimes also confuses him when I ask him to explain his answer.

For the amount of information that is required to remember in metalanguage, Ethan is absorbing it quite well. He is asking for resources that he is able to use, as well as certain techniques to help him memorise metalanguage
Ethan isn't sure on the specific terminology of metalanguage yet. He is able to recall the metalanguage when prompted with key words, however he has some issues with identifying metalanguage within a text.

Similar comments to last week. Ethan very clearly understands his areas of concerns and so far he is currently working on them, which is good to see and hear. Ethan is getting better at finding certain types of metalanguage in poems, and he has a clear idea of some metalanguage already.
Ethan will need some improvement of analysing poems using metalanguage. His understanding of metalanguage is improving, but his application still requires some work
